New York has the US Open, Kentucky has the Derby and Indiana has the 500. I have spent more time in Indiana that any other place in my life. I moved there when I was 10, spent my formative years there and also attended University in the renowned Bloomington. In a land where basketball and corn are the king and queen we can’t forgot about the prized son of car racing.
The Indianapolis 500 is a spectacular event—the largest one day sporting event in the world boasting a insane tally of 300,000 people. Of course it is not Formula One racing or even Nascar it’s its own special blend called IRL (Indianapolis Racing League or Indy Car) because Indiana is special.
Hope you enjoy this glimpse into the spectacle that is the Indianapolis 500, that has little to do with the racing.
